Cirrus Logistics Accept Queen’s Award for Enterprise

July 31, 2012

Cirrus Logistics, provider of decision support software for the supply chain, proudly welcomed Dame Mary Fagan, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire; to officially present the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, under the category of ‘Outstanding Performance in International Trade’ at their offices in Basingstoke.

The official announcement disclosing the UK companies to win the award was made earlier this year, on HM The Queen’s birthday. Dame Mary Fagan, HM The Queen’s representative in Hampshire along with Deputy Lieutenant Andrew Kent, presented the trophy to Cirrus Logistics. The team behind CLASS and SEABERTH, the products which led Cirrus Logistics to such a prestigious accolade, were personally congratulated in a meet and greet session by both the Lord-Lieutenant and her Deputy Lieutenant.

Following the introductions, a brief demonstration of the software was presented. Dame Mary and Andrew Kent were very impressed with the simplicity, yet powerful capabilities of the software in solving port and supply chain problems all over the world. Being a former port director at Associated British Ports’ (ABP) – Port of Southampton Mr Kent was very taken with SEABERTH, the berth scheduling tool, and could identify with the port issues being solved.

The official presentation and citation shortly followed, with a speech from David Stanhope, CEO of Cirrus Logistics and its holding company The CentriQ Group and Dame Mary Fagan to the team, its directors and founders.

“The presentation of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise is always a very special occasion and a duty that I particularly enjoy. I was delighted to meet so many of the team at Cirrus and I wish them well for the future,” Commented Dame Mary Fagan.

“It was great to have both the Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant present the award at our offices,” said Simon Shore, managing director of Cirrus Logistics. “Winning the award for Outstanding Performance in International Trade, demonstrates the power that our solutions are offering businesses all over the world. Our performance is credit to the Cirrus Logistics team and the lengths they go to in building the right solutions for ‘real’ problems; providing the best decision-support tools on the market.  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their continued and loyal support.
