Cirrus Logistics Invest in Asia Market with the first CLASS and SEABERTH Conferences held in Singapore
Due to the exceptional growth of the Cirrus Logistics’ CLASS and SEABERTH solutions in the Asia Pacific region and as part of Cirrus Logistics’ ongoing commitment to their users, Cirrus held their first SEABERTH and CLASS conferences in the Far East. Cirrus has held User conferences in the UK for the last 7 years and they have always proved to be very popular. The Far East events took place in Singapore at the Institute of Logistics on 29th and 30th November, both were very well attended and proved to be extremely well received.
The SEABERTH day covered a range of topics, from the SEABERTH team providing details of specific areas of the product and the roadmap, along with guest presentations from Honeywell-Enraf and Eagle Lyon Pope. The conference played host to delegates from Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore, this included many oil majors, such as Exxon Mobil, Shell, S-Oil and Petronas, as well as multiple tank terminals from the Singapore area.
The following day, the CLASS User Group featured the introduction of CLASS 2012, which in addition to all of the functionality of previous versions, has a brand new look and feel. This will enable users to make use of some of the more advanced features more easily. Moving the solution onto the new platform will ensure the future longevity of the product and has given the CLASS team the ability to keep building on the product’s strong foundations. The user event enabled delegates to learn about the new version of CLASS, to have the opportunity to try it out in hands-on sessions, and to provide feedback. It was great to finally get to meet some of the customers that we have been in email contact with for many years. There was also a session on the development roadmap for CLASS to share our plans for future of the product with our user base.
David Stanhope, Cirrus Logistics’ CEO, commented “It was fantastic to see such a large number of delegates from the region at the events, with customers and prospects making the journey to Singapore to join us and learn more about the SEABERTH and CLASS products. We are pleased that we made the decision to invest in an event specifically for the region and we are already planning next year’s.”
The Cirrus SEABERTH team brought the delegates up to date with the latest improvements that have been made to the SEABERTH Berth Scheduling and Simulation system, and explored new concepts and ideas for future system development. The event gave delegates the opportunity to provide feedback on these new developments and to put forward further ideas for new features that they would like to see in subsequent software releases. In addition the event enabled the delegates to meet fellow professionals from other marine terminals and to exchange ideas and share experiences, leading to a very full and informative day.
The CLASS team were joined by guest speakers John Talbot from Logistics Consulting Asia who presented “Distribution Network Rationalization” and Jim Bralsford from CEVA Logistics on the topic of “CLASS Evolution – 10 Years” providing his observations and experiences of using CLASS over the past decade.
Both events received great feedback from the attendees, with over 90% of the attendees wishing to attend the event again next year. Following the review of the attendees’ comments, the team have already started planning for next year’s events to ensure they are even bigger and better.
